Dublin: A Different Perspective

Dublin: A Different Perspective

For almost two decades, the Huskies team has been based in the heart of Dublin. As such, we’ve watched the city flourish and grow into the thriving and diverse capital it is today. From our current location in Ringsend, we’ve seen the likes of Grand Canal Dock and the IFSC develop into bustling hubs of social activity. But we’ve also got a more tranquil vantage point. Each day from our office we have the pleasure of gazing out onto the majestic Liffey and beautiful Dublin Bay. It’s a stunning view no matter what the weather’s like, and one that never fails to thrill visitors to Portview House.

We’re always keen to explore this unique juxtaposition; a vibrant city that has such natural beauty on its doorstep, busy streets that look out to the sea and mountains. Of course, it feeds into the work we do with Visit Dublin. For the past three years, we’ve helped steer this brand’s exciting journey, developing their online presence in a way that draws on the most exciting aspects of the connected world. Our digital strategies have grown the brand’s reach and influence through multiple methods, including creating innovative content designed to let visitors and locals alike know about the unique adventures that await them here. And so, when the fantastic team at Big Style recently offered to let a group of us paddleboard to work, we just couldn’t resist.

The commute to the office that sunny September Monday morning certainly beat sitting on a bus! We set off from Islandbridge and made our way downstream, through Chapelizod, past Heuston Station and into the city. It was incredible to see Dublin from this new perspective; passing under bridges instead of strolling across them, gazing up at iconic buildings like the Custom House, and cheerily waving at bemused passers-by sleepily making their own way into work.

The experience really reinforced our passion for our hometown, and of course, for the work we do with Visit Dublin. Paddleboarding to work reminded us that Dublin is full of surprises, and that adventure awaits around every corner; often when you least expect it. It’s this element of fun and playfulness that we aim to bring to our creative offering, and it’s obviously working! We’re honoured to be nominated for two ADFX awards this year, both for ‘Making Dublin click again with tourists.’ We look forward to the ceremony, but more importantly to continuing to create innovative, unique strategies and ideas to help promote the city we love so much.
